It is so much easier to create a modern intranet on the new modern SharePoint. To create something decent, it will not take a lot of time to implement a solution, as most of the capabilities needed are out of the box.

Since it is easy and quick to implement, we cannot spend the needed time on the content strategy and digital experience. In this video we will build the homepage together, and also discuss the thought process needed to build a compelling and useful SharePoint homepage.

Don’t get me wrong, we can get a lot of mileage out of the OOB web parts, but as you will see in the video, there is still room for custom extensions and more features (which are currently on the road map).
